Inconvenient Truth

The scene that really strike me are those scenes that showed the effects of global Italicwarming.
I really worried and bothered about it. It is scary because there are things happening right now in our earth that is unusual.
I realized after I watch the movie that what we'd all done to our earth was too much already. The earth fight us back in all the abuses we'd done to it. I realize also that it was us who started this problem and it was also us who will suffer the consequences.
I can help to solve this problem by telling others this movie so that they could watch it. The impact of the movie is really intense and I really prefer this movie to be watch by all the people around the world. You will decide to do something about it after you watch the movie. This movie will made you realized the things you done in to the earth. This movie is really great.

Guide Questions:

  • I'd take the "avoid cheating" challenge. :)

b) Were you able to do the challenge? How do you feel about it?

  • I was able to do the challenge because during the ENG011 2nd long exam, I didn't study anything about it. That's why I worried that I might fail the exam. It entered my mind to cheat from my seatmate by I was able to refuse the temptation. That's why I was able to answer all the questions and items. And it is easy. I feel very happy that I was able to answer the exam without the concern of others and by not cheating.

5th Journal: "The Most Challenging Thing I have ever Accomplished"

"The Most Challenging Thing I have ever Accomplished"
During my last year as a highschool student, I was given a chance to show my talents.
My english teacher who is also our classroom adviser, told us that we will have a project, and it was a play. Romeo and Juliet is the story that they want us to show. My classmate had a hard time choosing for the role of Juliet. During the nomination for the Juliet role, I am not in the classroom because I was excused by my moderator in club to practice and to teach us the flower arrangement because we are going to join a contest in Lyceum.
When I returned in the classroom to get something, they all look at me and they shouted that I will be the Juliet. I was surprised because I never thought that they would choose me though I know that it will be a break for me to show what I have. At first I don't want to accept the role because it's hard for me to act as a girl like Maria Clara. (haha) But they really want me to do the role that's why I finally accept it. During the practices, I'm not focusing well because I'm quite shy to act in front of my classmates. But I know to myself that I could do it. After a few days, our director told me that I should sing so that our play would partly musical, I was really surprised because I will sing in front of a crowd. The play was presented twice, during the school fair in our gym (2nd day) and before the Bingo (3rd day) . Before the presentation, I was really nervous because I'm worrying on what will happen during the play especially in the part that I will sing because I haven't memorize yet the whole song, especially the last part. But during the presentation I was able to act well and sing the song well though I forgot the last part but they said that it's not obvious and I was able to manage it. After the presentation I received compliments from the teachers, sisters (nun), classmates and schoolmates and from my family because they watched me. After I heard their compliments, I said to myself that it's all
worth it. It was challenging but I learned something about it, that I should have self-confidence and I have to trust myself that I could do the things that i've never done before.
I also ask God for help and i thank him. It's challenging but I know that I was
able to share what I have to others.

Journal 4.. :)

1. Looking back at the list of your positive characteristics and qualities, what do you feel and realize about it?
Looking to those positive characteristics and qualities of mine, I feel good because I know to myself that i have it. I also realize that I could share those qualities to others.

2. The Golden Rule says “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”
a. Given the following situations, how would you like to be treated by your teachers and schoolmates:
  • when you have given wrong answers to the questions during recitation
    I want them to treat me nicely. It's fine with me if they laugh but I hope they won't tell something really annoying. If they would laugh, make sure that they know the answer. I hope my teacher will just correct me.
  • when you are expressing your opinion during class or group discussion;
I just want them to listen and respect what will I say.
  • when you are giving suggestions during group work or presentation;
I want them to listen on my suggestion, if they don't want my suggestions, i hope that they would say it in nicer way. It's fine with me if they don't want it.
  • when you commit mistake;
I often commit mistake, i hope that they would correct me and tell me the right way with respect and understanding.
  • when you don’t like doing what they ask you to do
I hope that they would simply understand and respect my decision without any negative reactions.
  • when they want to give you their comments or suggestions?
I hope they would respect me.

b. Considering the given ideas on how to treat others with respect, what can you commit to yourself in terms dealing with the MCL community: teachers, students, employees, security, maintenance/janitors and canteen personnel?

In dealing with this people, I would respect them so that I could get a respect also in return. And of course, I would treat them, the way they treat me. :)

3rd Journal

If you will have one outstanding virtue, what would you want it to be? Why?

If I will have one outstanding virtue, I want it to be understanding. Actually, I'm proud to say that I have this and I'm very happy that I have this virtue. Because for me, once you know how to understand, you will have the chance to be understand also. All I want is to be understand by everyone, that's why I really try to understand someone so they would return also something for me.

And if you will look more deeply in the word "understanding", once you have this virtue, you know how to love. Because you will not force yourself to understand something if you don't love it. For me, it will all start in understanding. Without this, you can't be a better person or you cannot attain the person that you want to be. Without this, the person around you will never had a chance to like you and to know you. Without this, you'll be in despair.

Know how to understand and you will be satisfied in life. :)

Journal entries 2

1. How was your first week of stay at MCL?

My first week in MCL is fine. At first day, I was so nervous because I don't have someone to be with. But I meet a friend and fortunately, he is my classmate. My first week with my classmates was also fine, but we are not that close so it became hard for me to hang out or talk with them. I talked only to few persons, especially my group mates in the activity that we had done during this course. About the professors, they are kind and for me they are approachable but i'm a bit shy to consult them (haha). But before the week ends, i had a chance to know more about my classmates and professors. And i was able to adjust already. It's nice. :)

2. Describe your professors. What are traits do you find positive in each one?

My professors, I think they are kind because if we don't get what they are discussing, they don't hesitate to explain it again. They are also funny, that's why we don't get bored when they keep on talking. They are approachable,some of them have consultation hours. They are also perseverance. In all, they are good. They are so different.

3. Describe your blockmates/section. What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of your section?

My blockmates/section is the best. They are very cooperative. They are fun to be with. They are simply the best. I really enjoy our section. A day won't end without a funny thing had happen. Our section enjoys laughing and laughing and laughing. (HAHAHA) The strenght of our section is that we are always happy and enjoy simple things. We are ready to help one another. And our weakness is some of us don't join the big group, as if they have their own world. That's it! :)

4. How do you find your courses? Which ones do you think are easy and which ones do you think are a little bit challenging? Why?

Our courses is very interesting but a bit hard. I think, Values Education is easy because you just have to express yourself and it helps you to know yourself and others. You can express yourself in this course. Then humanities is a little bit challenging, because some of terms or lesson there is new to me. That's why I need to understand it well.

5. Do you have any adjustment you feel you are going through or must go through? What are they? Cite examples in terms in your academics, emotions, and social environment.

I think I have to familiarize myself in the school because they are place that I really don't know. With the people around me, I have to be more friendly. And some of my former classmates is studying there also but I'm shy to greet them. In academics, I need more focus, I need to give attention to them unlike in high school that i study during the day of the quiz.

Self-Evaluation:)

Self-Evaluaion:

Questions (answers):
1. How does Values Education work to your advantage?

I think, Values Education will help me to be more comfortable. And if I am confident already, I could show my advantages that will help me to be succesful in my new life, now that I'm a college already.

2. After you have your first few experiences at MCL, in what way this will help you achieve successful adjustment in college?

My few experiences in MCL was fine. I met new friends. I was given chance to know more about MCL during the orientation. The orientation helps me to adjust in my college life. In the orientation they said that we don't have to worry because they are all ready to give a helping hand for those who need help and for questions. They said that they were there to guide us to help us in adjusting in college. The professors was also a big help. The staffs are also approachable and they are kind. I think after a few weeks, I could already adjust and be comfortable in MCL. I'm looking forward to that. :)
